In the past, formal writing was often done on manuscript paper,
writing character by character, grid by grid—also poetically known as “climbing grids.”
This vivid expression inspired the design of the Naked Man manuscript paper washi tape.
The grids on manuscript paper form a two-dimensional space made of simple line segments.
In this washi tape, the naked men are brought to life as they climb the grids, hang from them,
use them as dining tables to drink coffee, or even step out from within the grid itself.
Through these interactions between the figures and the manuscript grid,
what was originally a flat two-dimensional structure is transformed—
using visual illusion techniques—into a space that suddenly feels three-dimensional, creating a sense of depth and movement.
